    Default Understanding Values

    Hey Guys and Girls,

When I quit Habbo there was probably a quarter of the furni that there is now, or at least it seemed that way. And looking at the rare values now, I am way confused about the prices of... everything.

Back when I played, the Habbox rare values were based on rubber ducks (lol) which were worth 1 credit. A HC Sofa was worth 60 creds/rubber ducks, and a Throne was worth 12 - 18 HC Sofas. Most norms were worth the price they are in the catalogue, so if I wanted 20 pods I would offer a HC for example.

Now though... the rare values puts pods at 1 credit, and HC's at 2 creds. Are HC's worth so little that I could probably get one for 2/3 pods? Or is it because they couldnt be valued at anything less than 1 credit?

I guess I am just trying to find out how norms compare to rares these days.

    Thankyar!

yeah it's changed a lot ha. if it helps pods trade at about 1c on the hotel and hc sofas are 2c so you'd probably get 2 pod chairs for a hc sofa. sounds really little nowadays. there was a time when hcs were at 1c, gone up a little bit. if yr reeeeeeeeally lucky and get a new trader you could probably get 3c for a hc. but youd really have to be lucky.

At the moment I have been in shops too much for the past couple of days and I have noticed Pod Chairs selling 2 for 1c and I resorted to selling my HCs 1c per (got them at that anyway) as no one would buy '18 HCs for 20c.' However, after a bidding war I managed to get 21c for them so I feel you need persistence when trading now as if you try and try you will get the value you want for the item (if it's within reason.)

The merge occurred and many values decreased and a fair few increased but some became more popular such as the yellow and blue pods that can only fetch 1c (for blue) and sometimes 2c (for gold). There's also things such as dark blue fans and dark blue icms that are worth 2-3c nowadays.

Also, Habbo have basically given up releasing rares and when they do they don't do very well. The last two released were the sand dragon and the sea throne and both were released as shell quest items in which you needed to collect shells and pay credits for them too. The last good rare that is still worth a fair bit (around 40c) is the dragon throne but it may have gone up as it's near Halloween.

Anyway, on Habbox if an item sells say 2 for 1c it should be displayed as 1c on the site but it can also make 1c if you see what I mean, such as the pod chairs in this example.

I have to go but if you want to know where more things stand with rares and the introduction to the marketplace then I will do when I come home from college.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks for the detailed post Samanfa

Guess the bottom line is that you can get more furni for your creds these days

Do people still get HC sofas as a reward for joining HC, or are they now retired?

Thankfully I trade my HC sofas for Thrones before I quit

The currency system basically collapsed (CS) because it was in reality worthless, especially against credits (gold, silver, bronze) which are actually worth something. A lot of rares reverted to their 'real value' which is a lot less than they were under the inflated CS system.

From fiat currency to hard currency.

If you go in the Catalog you will see 'marketplace' which is a new way to trade items and get the items you need quickly but for (usually) a higher price than the shops. When the marketplace first came about we can see values soaring thus people were rigging the values (ensuring no one else had put the same item in) they bought their own items back for a high price therefore increasing the average and in some cases this works and in other cases it doesn't.

I see I see! This is a completely different game lol I enjoy having to learn everything again though.

... So I am looking at buying some pumpkins, Habbox has them at 1 credit. When I go to the market, I see them selling at 3, which makes sense after reading your post about expecting to pay a premium at the market. Theoretically speaking, if I stay in the market and keep refreshing the search, I may be able to catch one for less than 3 creds?

I guess this completely kills trading? No one is going to try sell lower in a trade room as they could sell instantly in the market, and no one is going to try sell higher in a trade room because no one is going to buy when they can get instantly from the market?

And also - I guess the average price in the market, is the average price of sold items and not the average price of everything thats in there waiting to be sold? Has this made the Habbox values pointless as they are more dynamic?

Edit: Then again, I guess people still try to trade item for item
