    I need a change of desk as mine is terrible, do you think thishttp://www.littlewoods.com/compact-f...totalResults=1is good for value size etc. I use a laptop.

    I don't get the point of the lid... The sample picture shows a monitor on it. Does that mean you have to remove the monitor from the desk each time you get in it? Don't answer that, that's rhetorical

    If you want a desk made for a laptop or if you like drawing and need a desk that hides it away for safety then the first desk is fine. I'd go for the Perth Desk if I was your (your second option) purely because it is actually a desk you can sit a computer on £179 is quite decent as well for that desk, it's quite a good size and seems to be good quality - assuming Littlewoods are keeping to their standards.

    EDIT: Scratch the first paragraph, it's not a monitor - it's a picture hanging on a wall with a small radio on the desk underneath. Strangely looks like a monitor at first glance My point is still valid though, don't get that because the lid isn't very good for a full computer suite.

    I would be removing the lid as I too think its a pointless feature.
