Default Littlewoods Christmas advert has people talking...

It's easily the most shameful advertisement I've seen since in recent years

The top rated comments say it all

"Excluding the necklace she bought for herself, I make it about £2,150 mum spent on all the gifts called out. That's about 8% of the UK median after-tax household annual income."
    Cute advert, but absolutely despicable

That's just taking the whole idea of a material Christmas way too far. What happened to it being about family etc rather than the amount of £££ you get?

Why are these adverts always about mums and make out the father isn't involved in Christmas at all.

lol, christmas hasn't been about anything besides commercialisation for a long, long, long time. that's why i hate adverts/shopping/everything during the christmas period. it's like BUY THIS, BUY THAT, YOUR KIDS WON'T BE HAPPY WITHOUT IT and you get parents running around town trying to get thatspecific gift for whoever. no thank you

All of the holidays are just another way of getting money out of people. Christmas, Valentines New Year, Easter, Halloween, Bonfire Night - you name it, we spend like crazy for it

It's not until you get a bit older that you actually begin to appreciate Christmas and understand what it is meant to be about. Spending time with family, giving as well as receiving (innuendo ) and just generally having fun with the people you care about and the people who care about you
