If you're smart and pay it off each month, a Credit Card

Debit, means 1. I don't have to pay interest and 2. worry about paying something back with money I don't have.

You don't pay interest on a credit card provided you pay the full balance within an amount of time.

Many credit cards also add the benefit of additional insurance cover on purchases and sometimes the ability withhold payment for merchandise which proves defective. Some offer bonuses for just using the card such as store points or vouchers.

If you use them wisely then they are potentially better, the only problem is that the majority of the public aren't particularly smart with their money.

A debit card with an overdraft that reflects your income, just incase you really need it. Never get involved with credit cards if you dont need to. It's all well and good saying you could pay it off, but when you are using it again and again especially in the Christmas period, you might get in way over your head.

Always used a debit card, and will continue to for the immediate future.

Once I'm earning a decent and sustainable wage, I may get a credit card. But I don't think itsnecessary, you can always get an overdraft if you really need a bit extra.
