    Default Inknews

The second product in the "Inkride" range has launched, It's a community based news website which aims to provide the latest breaking news.

Right now my main priority is to grow the community, because without people the site is worthless. Just like wikipedia; the website functions by volunteers giving their time to creating content. Inknews is just like that and we are not after making any money, I personally want to do it because I hate the press and all the lies and hacking they have been doing.

If a community all came together to build a place where people can read and comment on detailed and reliable news, can you imagine how that would effect the media in the long run?

Imagine a future where we all work together to provide the quickest breaking stories before anyone else?!!

Anyway, we have a facebook page which is:
    http://www.facebook.com/pages/Inknews/292188834160614

we also have a twitter which I haven't had chance to use properly:
    www.twitter.com/inklatest

    And the main website is!
    www.inknews.me
    or www.inkride.com/news

Please excuse the main inkride website, I'm still working on it.

If there's any news in your area, please post an article on it, it would help me alot

    thanks!

Pointless. Why? Twitter. News travels faster there than is possible on any other outlet.

twitter is limited to 140 characters, we want to provide a detailed coverage of what happened.

Like twitter where people all post tweets but having a team to work together on breaking stories.
If I had a team of let's say 100,000 journalists in the future Inknews could be a valuable tool.

I mean I have to start somewhere right?

Twitter, plus CNN, Reuters, BBC and Sky, etc, and you see a gap in the "market"? OK.

There's a gap in every market, Even facebook :p

If my news website was to be successful I would have more journalists than all of the news websites you listed combined.
Okay maybe not twitter but most people don't go onto twitter to share news, only stuff that's going on in their lives.

To say that's a big if is an understatement. What do you know about journalism?

Nothing is impossible, I believe I have what it takes to be successful, Yes, there's other existing companies out there which provide similar things to me but it's not about that, it's about building a community where people can enjoy the work they have created. And maybe one day we can be respected publishers.

It's not all about news though, I have some other plans

I don't know much about journalism but I can always learn through experience. However, I know how to run and manage a team.

My question is how to you aim to have your articles reliable. You mentioned Wikipedia. One of Wikipedia's biggest problems is false information, basically people changing stuff, vandalising articles. I had a lecturer who would actually change the answers apparently when doing quizzes so that if people used Wikipedia they'd get it wrong and he'd know they'd used it.

We all know that journalists bend the truth or blatantly lie. Another problem is opinions that try to be written as the truth. Will you check every article and be able to back them up? What happens if an article claims something but there's no sources to prove it?

This site has potential i can say that but i do encourage you, be careful and read all submmitted articles check them for grammer and plagerism if they are in fact plagerized the writer wont be likely be sued but you and your website will most likely be sued
