Default [Idea] 'Most respected user of the month award'.

    Evenin'

I believe that there is no form of 'reward' (given by Habbox staff) for reputation, so I sort-of came up with an idea (someone else made me think about this idea though).

Basically, maybe there could be a way to track how much reputation a user gains in 1 specific month (e.g. 1st January - 31st January) and compare this to all other users, then see who has actually gained the most in the month time-scale and give them a reward?

So, if someone managed to gain - oh idk, 200 reputation points in a month somehow (and this was the highest anyone earned in that 1 month) then they will win a reward - maybe credits or forum VIP?

I'm only suggesting this because reputation almost seems pointless to those users who participate in Habbox events - the ones who always ask what rep. is - someone said to me today that it seems relatively un-useful to them as no prizes come out as a result and I agreed with them also - but I did tell them that it makes you seem respected.

Hence, there should be an award called 'Most respected user of the month'. Or something similar to that. The person who manages to collect the most reputation in an individual month would receive this award along with something such as forum VIP or credits etc.

Just a thought haha :L (I'm also fairly sure there is no reward for this already)

I wouldn't do it by reputation gain, it doesn't show how respected someone is - just how popular they are. Heck, it doesn't show how popular they are, it just shows how reputatable they are

Two minds about this one. Sounds like a good idea to make it more worthwhile for new members but I don't think it'd benefit them the most in the long term cos the likely winners of said award would be the older members.

Ultimately, earning reputation is something that shouldn't really be taken too seriously. You stick around andit's guaranteed to go up and up (considering you're not a total jerk!). The reward comes from having good posts that people feel the need to take the time to stop and give out some reputation.

To build on Ryan's point I'm pretty sure the people who get the most rep are newcomers in their welcome threads, and I'm quite certain that fairy-princess4000 or such persons are unlikely to be hailed as the most respected users by virtue of their actual contribution. We already have member of the month to show those who have done well (or at least posted lots...) in certain areas
