After reading sam's thread it's got me thinking...
Ok so basically I come from a working class background, nobody in my family did university and my cousins etc dropped out of college/sixth form. So I'm the only one really that actually wants to do something out of my life, but every time I try and talk to talk to my mother about it she doesn't really understand why I want to go onto university as she would be happy with whatever I did, she said to me in the past to just have an average day job in a department store or whatever. I have a part time job in a clothes store at the moment, the thought of having to do that for the rest of my life makes me want to physically die. I would love to go university but I still have no idea what I want to do as a career.
Have you had similar experiences with your parents or know of anyone?

) and it really motivates me and makes me try harder. my mum left school at 16 and said that's all you could do at her age and her background. i'm from a working class background too but i think that makes me want it more.
