Often when we discuss multiculturalism (no, not multiracialism before anybody tries that one on) we simply discuss the grave social consquences of ghettoisation of inner city areas and rival factions forming between each culture and/or religion. But very rarely are the political consquences ever hit upon - the consquences that if you wish to watch or briefly view the above video, you'll see quite clearly - political brown nosing to certain minorities. When we complain of certain minorities being given easier access to universities (as Nick Clegg floated) simply because of their culture or colour, when we complain of certain candidates being promoted to high office simply because of who they are (Baroness Warsi in the Tory Party)... you'll see in the video, exactly where this attitude comes from.

And just a note as to why the above video is so revolting, the likes of Simon Hughes never ever make speeches like that to everybody else in that strange voice he's putting on nor (and I noticed this) does he preach about homosexual 'rights' when he is infront of a crowd of muslims but would surely do infront of a crowd of Christians.... now I wonder why that is? that certainly doesn't take an Einstein to work out.

Revolting if you ask me not to mention the fact I have a hard time believing any of this airy fairy talk was genuine, it pretty much sums up the Liberal Democrats in one video; sucking up to minorities and causing division by making them feel 'special' with extra 'rights' and so on, sucking up to Europe and ignoring the traditions and religion of this country and just generally putting on an act so bad and politically correct that it made my stomach turn.

Thoughts? a pretty vague thread but I just thought it was so unusual and clear as to how detatched our politicians are.

Oh, it looks like we've come across someone who's a bigger suck-up than the likes of Ed Balls and Ed Miliband. Speeches by the large majority of politicians can never be taken seriously, and I'm actually concerned about the lack of persuasion needed to woo these people. Hughes mentioned some kind of empty nonsense about tackling crime, transforming the streets of Britain from the battle-ground that it is, into some kind of divine haven where "brothers and sisters" walk side by side. There was no mention of how he plans to do that, yet the innocent punters in the audience were cheering their heads off. Politicians have found a weakness in our population, and it's such a shame they feel the need to take advantage.

The amount of people (both adults and children) wandering around in the audience was annoying me too.

Breaking news: politicians trying to get votes.

It is not surprising that certain politicians will target a certain minority just to get votes (George Galloway with the Muslims for example). If by your surveys - which politicians do all the time - you found out your party was weakest in certain communities, you'd go out and target those communities. Is it a shame that politicians no longer stand on principle? Yes. Is it surprising to anyone? No.

However, it's a big leap to assume it works. I remember when Galloway was elected, there were a few Muslims who said 'no I didn't vote for him because he was trying to appeal to Muslims when he should appeal to everyone'
