Default How much will I get paid for giving evidence

I have to go to court tomorrow to give evidence. I caught someone nicking the copper out o the roof where I work, when I was at work a few months ago. It goes to court tomorrow and I have to give evidence. Any ideas how much I get paid. I'm on holiday from work due to it.

Loss of earnings – employed persons (Ordinary Witnesses only)
The maximum amount of earnings lost that may be repaid is:
 For an absence from work not exceeding 4 hours £33.50
 For an absence from work exceeding 4 hours £67.00
These payments are not subject to income tax or other statutory deductions. To claim loss of earnings,
you must get your employer to complete this section of your claim certifying the earnings you have lost.
Do this after you have attended court.

Yeah you'll get paid for missing work but not a payment for doing it, that's only for jury duty not just giving evidence

Oh actually no not in the UK I got that wrong, you do in America I believe and maybe Canada but I'm pretty sure that it's not something you can sign up for, you get randomly selected as opposed to giving evidence where you obviously have to have some link to the crime

Yeah, jury duty you get randomly selected from the electoral register and you must do it unless you fit into certain catagories.

Anyway, I think you'd only get paid from loss of earnings, as if they paid you to give evidence, you may only be doing it for the money and therefore give biased/invalid evidence as you don't care aslong as you get the money
    i think

due to the fact he mentioned he's on holiday from work it's safe to assume he meant loss of earnings.

Like everyone has said, you don't get paid you just get your loss of earnings covered.

My best friend was on jury service in October, you don't get paid but you get travel costs covered and I'm also sure she got a lunch allowance everyday, which was topped onto a card sort of thing
