Ars has a fairly in depth article on the new megaupload:

It looks like a fairly solid and well designed product, in fact it looks a heck of a lot better than mega upload did.

Chippiewill.
I'm curious how it will be different to megaupload Law wise. Yes the files will be hidden and encrypted but if people want to share them and some probably will they will post the links on sites. Won't the law if finding these links find a way to get the files removed and if not force a removal again?

They'll still comply with the laws in the appropriate countries.
meh i won't be using it if there's no mobile apps
and after megaupload take down I highly doubt any country is going to help them
also pretty sure canada refused to give them servers that megaupload owned recently as well
I mean can't a country force the country with the servers to do something. It seems a lot of sites are being taken down because they are being used for illegal activities even if it's the users hosting stuff. I think I read that Mega will take down stuff if asked to, but I'm sure a lot of governments are trying to get these type of sites shut down completely. It's unfair on the site and also unfair on the paying user. Some people have load files when these sites have closed.
Not if they're complying with the law, in which case megaupload was as they complied with DMCA.I mean can't a country force the country with the servers to do something. After megaupload I can't see NZ doing anything about it as their police etc broke the law with regards to the raid, FBI broke the law as well afaik.
Mega will comply with laws as well, and has extra security for users.
Looks not much better than dropbox?
