This thread provides the basic information about how to contend in the forum competition, The Mole.
Firstly, the confirmed 16 contestant are as follows;
@Bolt660;
@buttons;
@cameron;
@FlyingJesus;
@Intersocial;
@mrwoooooooo;
@MyOffDays;
@Nick;
@orientalframe?;
@Paige;
@Rozi;
@RyRy;
@scottish;
@Stephen;
@wixard;
@Zombies;
One of these contestants has been randomly selected to take on the role of The Mole. Only we, your hosts, and the Mole himself (or herself) know who the Mole is. The main aim of the other fifteen contestants is to discover who the Mole is. Beware of the traitor amongst you!
Throughout the competition contestants will take part in a series of tasks in order to increase the number of forum VIP days in the prize fund. The prize fund will be awarded to the winner at the end of the competition. Teamwork and communication are key to the completion of many tasks. Players will be working against the clock and more importantly, against the Mole. The Mole will be attempting to sabotage the tasks to prevent any VIP being added to the prize fund.
Any days of VIP that are lost to the group, will be added to the Mole’s prize fund, and the Mole will win their prize fund at the end of the competition if they have met two criteria: Firstly, they must have directly influenced a failure of a certain amount of tasks, and the mole must remain undiscovered by a certain amount of players. Therefore the Mole must choose between sabotaging tasks, and staying undercover throughout the game.
Each day, three tasks will be announced to the group at 00:01 GMT. The contestants must solve these three tasks before the end of the day (23:59 GMT) in order to win the specified VIP days. Partial completion will result in partial rewards. Contestants can choose to work on any of the three tasks throughout the day, going in between the different threads provided for each task. Once a task is complete, contestants should focus on a different task. Updates and announcements concerning tasks may be made by either myself or co-host @Charz777; .
Within each task thread, the details of the task will be provided in the original post. Contestants are then allowed to discuss between themselves freely in the thread, including what information in private messages they have been given. Answers to tasks must be given in the thread, and will have to be made in bold. You should discuss potential final answers with the rest of the group before submitting them, as the first post in bold will be accepted as the given answer for that task.
Once the day is complete, an execution quiz will be posted. This execution quiz will contain 10-20 questions that you must answer about the Mole, and the previous day’s tasks. These questions have a correct answer, and each correct answer will score you a point. At 21:00 GMT the execution will take place. The two players with the lowest score in the execution quiz will be executed and eliminated from the competition. Therefore, the closer you are to the identity of the mole, the more points you will score in the execution quiz, and the better chance you have of making it to the next round.
An example of an execution quiz is as follows:
1) Is the Mole male or female?
2) What colour hair does the Mole have?
3) What nationality is the Mole?
4) In Task 1: Great Expectations, who was the Mole’s partner?
5) Who is the Mole?
The competition will continue in these two day cycles, a day with three tasks, followed by a day for the execution quiz and the execution itself. So, the schedule for the competition is:
