Default Raising Money for Charity [+23 Rep]

    Hello
** RELEVANT TO UK USERS **

I will be straight, I am asking for a bit of help. Basically, I am unsure if you guys have heard of it but there is a website called www.easyfundraising.org.uk. The website is fantastic, in that all you need to do is go on it, then go to your normal websites (such as Amazon) for shopping. Then for every pound you spend, normally about 2% is given to a charity.

Basically, in December/start of January this year I went to an orphane my college supports in India. I am continuing my efforts to raise money, and hoped you would be able to help. Easy Fundraising is a fantastic website, and I was wondering if you could help me too!

There are a whole host of websites that you can buy from including huge brands such as John Lewis and Amazon UK!

Whilst it says Indian Expedition 2012-13, the money itself is going to the Good Foundation (charity number: 291251), the UK sector of the Russ Foundation.

The Russ Foundation is primarily a girls home in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. The girls there are hugely deserving, and there are now some boys too. The majority of the children have lost their parents (and sometimes even the rest of their family), however Russ has given them the chance to get an education and have a much better life, that we all too often take for granted.

    So in essence:

    1. Go shopping online!
    2. Use my cause to raise money
    3. Get your goods, and feel good that you have raised money for a charity, totally free.

The above link is NOT a referal link, it is not benefiting me in anyway. +Rep to anyone who purchases something using that link - hopefully, together, we can double that £115 raised so far very soon. I 100% promise you not a penny of what we raise here will be going in administration fees, or any rubbish like that. I will happily show pictures of the trip, again via private message.

    Thanks

P.S. If anyone wishes to contact me to find out more about the Russ Foundation and my own experience, please private message me. You can also view the website at www.russfoundation.in

So I wanted to make this more compelling.

For anyone who raises £5 for the cause I will either give you one months VIP on this forum or one gold bar - whichever you would prefer.

    Remember this costs YOU NOTHING.

    Thanks!

    Hi Jen,

No problem! Thanks so much for looking to take part though. Words simply cannot express how much I believe in the cause, having seen it with my own eyes. I will send you some pictures in about 15 minutes

    Thanks again!

Sounds like a great cause. I'll try to do this next time I shop online.

A charity is a charity. As long as it's helping people, it should be good enough.

There are a million charities out there begging for my money. People don't exactly have a lot of disposable income so charitable acts are kept to a minimum thus, you cannot donate to everyone.

Which is why I need a reason, better than other charities' reasons, to donate.
