I've seen some that don't turn to green, and I couldn't tell if that is oK or not...

When the green light flashes it means you are online or whoever its beside is online, shows red means you are online but on invisable mode, blank means offline.

Top of the page go to "User Cp" then "Edit options" Select invisible mode then go down and press save settings.
