Default struggling to sleep at night

okay, so recently i've been struggling to sleep. it started on sunday night, when i laid awake for hours until about 5am i decided to go for a walk thinking that would help. i went for a walk for about an hour, and as soon as i got back i felt so sick. i finally got sleeping at 8am. then the next night, i was still awake till about 4am. it's not like i slept all day, which i didn't? i got up at a reasonable time that day. i woke up at 7.30am and couldn't get back to sleep after that. now it brings us to last night where i was awake a lot less, but i still was awake for a while!

does anyone have any tips? don't wanna go to sleep nervous another night!!

Usually I have to do stuff which tires my eyes out.
So I play games on my phone/ipod. I know it probably makes my eye sight terrible but it works!

Also putting on music softly seems to help.

Watching TV usually helps me sleep or watching something on my laptop. Some people have told me to drink Horlicks before going to bed, apparently it makes you quite sleepy, never tried it myself but worth a shot.

If it doesn't get any better, I'd go to the doctors and they can recommend something.

maybe the problem is because you're worried you're gonna get no sleep. trust me, happened to me. i used to sleep from 10am and wake up around 2 every morning cause my brother would come home drunk with people and i wouldn't sleep until 6am. even when he wasn't there id wake up 2am every night cause i was expecting it and every night id go to bed expecting to wake up at 2am and i would. only stopped when i was sure he wouldn't come home, do you have a reason for not sleeping in the first place?

hmm. i'm not nervous about anything if that's what you mean? i'm not normally like this, which is why it's unusual. unless you count that i don't have to go back to college until september a reason (as in change), which i doubt either because i've never been like this when i've been off.
