Woman hits her baby bump with hammer to prove her child is "hard"

A UK woman has been caught hitting her baby bump with a hammer to prove how “hard” her unborn child is. Heather Thorpe (24) was recorded striking herself with a claw hammer by her former partner, Sean Hanlon, a month before giving birth to her son Jonathon. Hanlon (26) showed the video to the police after the two broke up but was told by officers that no offence had been committed. “If there was a film of someone hitting a baby with a hammer they would be in handcuffs in ten seconds flat” said Hanlon. He claims that Miss Thorpe told him: “my baby’s hard as anything, just watch this” and then took a hammer from his toolbox, lifter up her top and struck her bump in October last year, just weeks before her due date. Mr Hanlon also claimed that his ex had punched herself because “she wanted the baby to come out.” After the couple broke up Miss Thorpe reported Hanlon to police, accusing him of domestic violence. When officers contacted him he told them that she was lying and handed over the footage as evidence of her character. “I couldn’t believe it when the police didn’t press charges. I also sent the video to social services who have been sending someone round to see her regularly, but anyone can put an act on in front of them” said Mr Hanlon. Miss Thorpe’s family have claimed that Hanlon is not the biological father of Jonathan and that her current partner is the child’s dad although the man himself has denied that.

I really do question the intelligence of some.... and am shocked charges were not pressed and she's aloud to keep custody.. She sounds totally inept of being able to be a proper mother.

Isn't it strange how we are all rightly horrified by this story but not a peep is usually given or shown concerning younger unborn babies who are aborted simply because the mother couldn't keep her legs closed?
