Default Habbo Club Update & the State of Habbo

I've posted this here on Habbo's User voice, if it gets noticed by staff or not will be a mystery. I'm posting it here to hear your opinions on the matter & if you do like my proposal, feel free to vote it positively on user voice.

    -----------

I've been a Habbo Club member for 92 months, 26 days. That's 7 years, 8 months & 26 days. If I paid 20 coins for each month (usually pay 25) it would have cost a total of 1,840 coins. Using current purchase options, that's around £200 worth of coins.

What do I have to show for that? I have a golden HC badge which I got for 48 months of HC. That's 3 years & 6 months ago - the last time my original HC badge was updated. Sure, I have a VIP badge & a modern version of the HC badge, but they both state a lot less than my current HC time.

Sure, I've been able to use 'HC clothes' for 7 years 8 months & been able to select monthly HC furni (which - is all mostly worthless) but is that really worth £200? It's certainly not worth 25 coins a month.

This may sound like a selfish idea, it isn't. This is part of a bigger problem Habbo has had for years. Older players & especially older HC members are the heart of Habbo - those who have bought HC for a long time DO put money into Habbo. Staff have been so focussed on making Habbo better for newer players that they've completey forgotten about the needs of their older ones & obviously, looking at the numbers of unqiue visitors on Habbo year to year, that strategy isn't working at all.

So what do I suggest? I suggest making a badge that goes BEYOND 48 months. I suggest that users who have been a member of Habbo Club for years and years should be treated as they deserve to be. There should be special rewards & special incentives to reach certain milestones of Habbo Club.

Reached 5 years? Great - have a fairly rare piece of furniture only 5 year HC members get. Get given a special badge & a unique clothing item that ONLY 5 year HC members can wear. Not only does this make older players feel better, it gives a reason for newer players to keep playing for years and most importantly, it gives them a reason to keep buying HC every month. Even if people quit Habbo for a period, if there's a REASON to keep buying HC - a special reward for each year of membership for example - they ARE going to login each month to make sure they've purchased HC. That not only brings in revenue, but it can bring the old players back that have long since given up on Habbo and you know what? They might just stick around.

Habbo Club should be what Habbo is built upon. Just like how Xbox Live, PSN & RuneScape membership are for their respective platforms. There should be HC staff events, games only open to HC members.. the current offering really is pathetic. A re-textured Executive furni line? No-one is going to pay a monthly fee for that. No-one is.

A message from someone that has been using this website since 2005 & giving it revenue, your users are going to keep dwindling unless you start to look after those who have been using your website for years. When you do that, it gives you a platform to work from & it gives you a much more active/positive user base.

If you don't? People will move on to more attractive platforms.

Wow, i agree very strongly, just reading this makes me want to never buy HC again, why because of what you stated. I have been using Habbo since 2009 and thinking back now, nothing has changed for the better mainly things have gone for the worst, i mean HC used to mean a lot to some people sure other the years from 2009 the U.I has changed and Staff Members but the Staff are so incapable of building rooms that look appealing, the bigfoot challenge is one thing I'm going to gripe about no one can get the bloody badge because of stupid staff members using wired properly and another stupid thing that is off topic, I have been banned multiple times which i'm quite sick off waiting until 2023 which is completely stupid in its own right. HC for me is now after reading that, is just a reward, sure you get better clothes then non-hc but that's it and another thing is the prices for HC have completely gone out of reach 25c for 1 month of HC it used to be 20c a simple sack and with the addition of 1c charge so 26c for HC a month. I could go on but i think i made my point of my view of things. My habbo faith is slowly slipping i now only have 2 reasons why i play Habbo 1) Special Someone and 2) Habbox. That's it. But i think staff should read that and maybe look into it but we all know that may as well never happen.

You'll find that a lot of people tend to grow out of Habbo, there's not many in comparison of older players that used to be around. They want to make money now, not focus on a possibility that they could continue receiving purchases from older members.

That, and they need money now to even have the possibility of making it to a future. I know that if I was in the same position as Sulake, I'd be focusing on getting a better experience for the newer players who will in turn spend more money than if they were to focus more on the older players that will likely soon, if they haven't already, grow out of it.

We all know by now Habbo seems to desire a fast turnover rate for both its staff, and it's userbase. Why have a loyal userbase which continues to purchase things when you can have a large ammount of new users who don't need to purchase anything because there's nothing to purchase now except furniture?

If Habbo was smart, and wanted to increase revenue (any sane company would) they would reintroduce older initiatives that required users to spend credits. These included
    - Purchasing game tickets for games and diving. You couldn't just do it for free or purchase it once (like the new furniture) and then never ever pay again. The game tickets allowed for Habbo to reduce the ammount of credits in circulation and required users to continually purchase credits or they could not play games such as Wobble Squabble, Battleball or Snowstorm.
    - Camera, gone for 'technical reason's (although isn't that why Habbo made the move from Shockwave to Flashplayer?) which also required Habbo's to A) Purchase a camera for 10 credits and B) Continually purchase additional film.

Habbo Club's 'flare' has dwindled as the incentives for purchasing it, are now very few. All Habbo Club members have now is an expanded selection of clothing and some room layouts. The furniture will always be worthless as long as Club members have the option of selecting their own gifts, it's what destroyed the value of the original Club sofa in the first place. There are no Habbo Club 'public spaces', there is no badge that everyone loves to show, and the gifts don't go any further after 48 months (even bloody BittyBay offers lifetime membership after a certain number of years).

This has already been suggested on the uservoice a few month/years a go about longer HC members being given a separate upgrade or shop, but they just gave the shop to everybody which is really pointless.

I've been requesting them to bring a new hc badge out for years. I'm on 8 or 9 years and have no badge to show this

I dont play habbo anymore but from reading that i can see where your coming from, i started in 04 and left when they merged all the hotels.
The main reason i left was purely because i genuinely had no reason to play anymore, i started working full time and didnt want to spend my spare time playing habbo.. The other reason was i thought it got worse and worse with each year which passed, now id never go back if they changed anything on there but i know you would probably get a few back for a few months, HOWEVER i doubt any of them will be able to claim their furni and accounts back after that stupid clearout, means alot of peoples accounts got reset and other people took their names.
Ive always seen that habbo lacked any incentives or motivation to keep older users as it never offered anything to them. When it changed to the VIP crap it was completely stupid, they spent no time at all trying to keep older members. Where i can see most people grow out of habbo and have better things to do there is still some people who dont get any rewards for being there spending money year after year.

Ah yeah, so I should just keep my opinion to myself..? I have an opinion so I'm going to share it with people, I'm paying for the service and so are other people. If you have nothing constructive to add except for 'stop moaning' - don't post on my thread.

the way you structured your post makes it seem like you've been given a dishonest service, been lied to - you knew what you were paying for it's written clearly on the habbo club page, you then made the conscious decision to pay for what's mentioned & now you're complaining about it, why?

also you wrote & i quote
I've been a Habbo Club member for 92 months, 26 days.
surely you would have realized the poor benefits you feel so strongly about after a couple of months yet you kept re-subscribing for almost 8 years
