    Default good hairdye brands ??

I dye my hair a few times and I know one brand that is really good is l'oreal preference, however they don't have the colour I want.
I used nice n easy on new years eve and bloody nora my hair has gone patchy, I had to use it a second time going over the patchy/parts that still showed my lighter colour, and it's still looking wierd and uneven, so safe to say I won't be using that again.
I want to get the colour off with something like the colour B4 remover, and try again.

So my questions I need advice with is
has anyone used the colour remover stuff, and would you recommend it?
what hairdye brands/foam or dye DO work, or you can easily say are the best?

Btw I used garnier once and it also went patchy, but that was a while back and I think I just maybe didn't do an amazing job because it was the first time I'd done it myself.

if you can help at all that'd be nice :-))) thanks x

ps sorry for the life story

John Freida Foam stuff is my favourite, I always try other stuff and I'm NEVER happy. Really find JF to be the best, coverage, colour, everything. They don't have a massive range though so it depends what colour you're after!

Superdrug have it on offer quite often, I always stock up when they have it half price, usually around a fiver! I think it might be£6.99 in superdrug at the moment actually!!

In all honestly all home hair dyes are rubbish, The colours you see on the box and on the celebrities require the product to be used on ONE strand of hair to say it has been used and the rest of it (for example eva longoria) is all done professionally.

The colour remover is good as I have used it before, but i was going back platnium blonde after putting a horrid brown over it. It will wreck your hair and make it smell really strange for several days.

I would say the BEST thing to do is go to a hairdressers who know what they are doing. I know it can be pretty pricey, but look into the colleges or salons that do model nights. Colleges sometimes do it for free or like £5 and salons also the same - its really good.

I used to use box dyes all the time and always disappointed and found out what damage they done to my hair .

I know this doesn't help with which brand to use but its just my point about box dyes ^.^

I have read that it has a horrid smell lol which I was worried about, and yeh I definitely have considered doing it in a salon, but it is the price, and that I have an irrational nervousness at hairdressers bit weird
