Keeping Secrets.

Hello Habbox!
So today I have found out that my best friend has been going out with this girl now for like a few weeks. I knew something was going on to start with by the way the acted with each other. However, What I didn't know is that everyone else I know who knows him and her knew they where going out but me...
I have known him for 10+ years now. Sure if he didn't feel like telling people who he is dating then I don't blame him but to find out from someone else and that everyone already knew apart from me. I feel left out :[ Oh well I guess it was his choice ? ;D

To the real question!
Have you ever felt left out that maybe some people already knew and you was the last to find out. Or maybe your friends have been keeping secrets from you that everyone else knew. Well something similar. I'd like to know as I know this probably happens a lot.

Do you know why he was keeping it from you?

I've been in a similar situation which made me quite upset but I had to think about why it happened and what I could do better, such as stop being so judgmental and be supportive even if I may not like the person she is in a relationship with.

secrets are important to me. if someone tells me a secret and asks that I don't tell anyone then I won't as a matter of principle which has gotten me into trouble in the past when things get out and it's discovered that I know about them lol. I really feel for people this happens to, being the last to know something is never fun. but I don't really care about it myself, if someone wants to keep something from me then that is their right and I won't hold it against them.

Perhaps he figured you already knew based on how they acted. Also, you could have simply asked him yourself if they were dating and he probably would have told you. Depending on what the situation was that everyone already knew about and me being last to find out would determine how I feel about it. Usually when I suspect things I just ask people about it so I'm not left all pissed off thinking people are being sneaky behind my back. Also, I have been in the situation before where my friends kept secrets from me that quite a few other people knew about. But, it didn't take long for one of my better friends to tell me all about it. Personally, I can understand people wanting to keep things secret from other people, especially if the truth may hurt someone in the process. However, I think honesty is policy. Good friendships/relationships cannot be built upon lies and secrets.

Just realized I missed the part out where it says I asked him is he as I am always straight forward with people. He replied no why would you think that. So for a few weeks thought nothing of it until today.

It doesn't bother me if friends keep something from me. It's their business and it's not my place to be nosy. I'm sure there is a good reason they didn't want to tell me. Also, as a person who has been in a relationship that's been the stuff of gossip, I know that it's nice to keep people out of the loop so they leave you in peace to get on with it. I hate it when people try to interfere.

The only person that I need to tell me everything is my fiance but that's because we've always shared everything and it would be weird if that suddenly stopped.

Strange that he was keeping it hidden from you then, maybe he thought you had a crush on the girl or something.
