    Default Ebac?

Ok so after guidance from my counsellor person I've decided not to take English lit and yeah there's been loads of discussion between me and teachers about it saying if I don't take lit I don't get lang either it's been insane

but today we got an email from the head basically saying
'If you don't take the English Lit exam, you will still get Eng Lang, but not the full ebac certificate.'

So I'm wondering is ebac even important as I've always been told it's not, no universities ask for it afaik, I've already got into college etc

So is not getting the full ebac gonna hold me back in anyway??

+rep to any fab answers :3

*if you say lit makes you look good etc, idc, im asking about the ebac not that

From what I understand, it's not even a qualification, just a performance measure, although that's 'Ebacc'

The 'Ebac' certificates are essentially the replacement to GCSEs - but those exams are first being held in 2017, so I'm confused really.

Pretty much, from what I understand the 'Ebacc' is just the percentage of pupils with at least one English GCSE.

I thought the ebac was abolished tbh, another of Gove's flop ideas. If you're already in college and it isn't a rquirement for your new course then can't see it being important for university considering they will ask for lvl 3 qualifications.

I would heavily advise getting a full English GCSE/equivalent. Most universities require both English and Maths GCSE at above grade C.

Afaik I did have a full English gcse until they changed it and entered me for English lang and lit

So I should still have that English gcse I think? Idek
What so the fact that I would only have lang on its own means they won't even acknowledge that I have a gcse in the English area?

This is why I hate my school, they do what's best for them and not their pupils..

Most people get 2 English GCSEs, English Language GCSE and English Literature GCSE.

When Unis ask for an English GCSE, in nearly all cases, they require an English Language GCSE.

You should be fine I think.
