I've done part (i) a) but I'm going SLIGHTLY wrong somewhere on part (b)...
The second equation which I'm getting is 2.7 + 0.8R = 0.6F... when I should be getting 2.7 + 0.6F = 0.8R

F=(mv2)/r so F=2.7
resolving horizontally I have F (above F, not friction) moving inwards, along with the resolved 'R'. Going right is the resolved friction.
