    Default Plastic Surgery

What is the obessesion with plastic surgery? I understand people don't want to age but there are so many people out there who have ruined their looks, and i'm sure [hoping] they regret ever going under the knife. But it's getting to the point where increasingly younger women in particular are having some sort of surgery done and ruining their looks.

What are you opinions on it? Do they look better or worse with surgery? Actually i'll say Sharon Osbourne did look okay the first time around on X Factor but i'm sure she's had more surgery and not looking so brilliant now. So, opinions please.

If people wanna go for it then i say let them, it's much worse to allow someone to suffer with a body they dislike, when they can A) Afford surgery to fix it and B) when this surgery will potentially improve their happiness I agree some people make silly decisions with it, but at the end of the day it's their money they spend and they'll learn their lesson I guess?

Personally i want cosmetic dentistry as i hate my teeth so much and i would genuinely be fifty times happier with better teeth

Better to fix what you don't like about yourself than live with it and be miserable.
At the end of the day, if it's not your body your opinion doesn't really matter. If you want plastic surgery, go for it. If you don't, don't.

(This wasn't aimed at anyone, the "you"s were general.)

I would like cosmetic dentistry also, but that would enhance myself, but look at the picture above that lemons posted, that's not enhancing yourself, it doesn't look that great. Nobody is ever going to be 100% happy with themselves but surely the first picture to you would look more attractive? Lets look at Dolly Parton... She's an older lady who ofcourse wanted surgery to look younger but she was such a pretty woman when she was younger, and now her looks have been ruined. Courteney Cox was very pretty too and seemed to have a little surgery too and again it's not enhancing her looks to me.

I agree that some celebrities take it a bit too far and end up looking so bad but it can be good. If we take out the plastic surgery to fix/cover injuries and just focus on purely cosmetic procedures anyway.

I don't disagree with it, let people do whatever they want to themselves to be honest. There's an increasing amount of pressure to fit all these norms to be "pretty" and there's no way to naturally be all of them, so it doesn't surprise me that people to take it that far.

Personally, I'm not totally against it. I wouldn't say no, because there are a few things I'd like to change, but at the moment with our crude methods (they might look totally cool and amazing but in a few years they will look crude) I'd rather wait until I'm old enough to have thought about it for a while, as well as it become safer, less painful, less scars, etc etc.

i'm all for it if it makes the person feel better and they can afford professional surgery. i've watched things in the past about surgery going wrong because of people either doing it themselves or going to cheap surgeons and tbh you can't help but blame them lol. obviously like you said people take it too far and look terrible but i'm pretty sure that's mostly down to people having an addiction, and that should be treated like any other addiction really

i actually read an article about debbie harry talking about her plastic surgery recently and i understood where she was coming from, she said something about it giving all the things you need to be part of the action without having to hide herself away which obviously refers to it giving her confidence and allowing her to carry on with her music career without having to worry about photoshoots or w/e

some celebrities just follow a trend because it makes them 'fit in'
if i was a celebrity and someone told me to get plastic surgery i would rather go on habbo and sit on plasto!

i am of the opinion that; I doubt i'd do anything to myself, but i guess if someone truly doesnt like something they can change it if they want.

Though they need to stop over doing it, you end up looking like a horse a lot of the time (just watch one of the real housewives series).

I've no problem at all with people having plastic surgery, especially if it's something they're not happy about. If I had the money I'd definitely have a few things changed!
