I thought the plan was Achievements to replaced Awards and awards to be phased out

so why are you giving away more new badges for events (such as the birthday week) instead of an achievement?

Pick one system or another, don't keep using two.. if you feel achievements have failed then simply remove them. If not get a move on with removing awards and stop giving out more awards.

Well I think it's fair that there was some sort of transition period between the two. Sadly, in its current form, the achievements system is just the awards system with more admin. Personally I'd start the whole thing again in the format it was suggested (and not done retroactive either - that decision killed it before it even started - except for those obvious ones you can't avoid like post count)

As I've said it will eventually be removed. There is an update coming to the achievements system soon, although it is nothing major or very exciting. You can discuss it amongst yourselves as I'm going to be on limited activity for the next week and haven't really got much else to say at this point anyway.

achievement system would work if all departments were working to their best first. at the current time it's unnecessary.

Yes you will. That is the next update, to bring fresh new icons to every achievement. It's taking some time because well...obviously there are a lot of images to be made. Good progress is being made though.

I was actually thinking this when I was making the post lol. I think if Awards are phased out, it won't work in some situations. For example, the awards for the birthday are limited awards. I don't think it would work if there are limited edition achievements y'know?

not necessarily. all it'd need is managers to do admin work which they already do. most of it would just be community getting involved, which is what the prizes would do if it was organised as suggested.

yah I definitely think that if a bit more creativity was put into even just naming the achievements it could b a little more successful but currently events team for example is dwindling and once teams build back up and community gets a bit bigger then it has potential to be a lot more successful.
