Problem with Retina Macbook Pro

Hello Everyone,


I've not had my rMBP for long but i've noticed a small chip on the palm rest.



I've seen that this is a problem with the Retina Macbook Pro so i'm just wondering if anyone has experienced this.

And if you've done something about this like got a free repair.

There's nothing saying apple did it? It would be classed as damaged really I presume so I am not sure weather they'll replace it. It worth a try though? How old exactly is it?. The size of it is like probably not even 2mm? You've zoomed in so much it's hard to say where abouts it is.

I've had it just over a month and apparently it's a recurring problem with this model.

Did you notice it when you bought it?

You can start RMA process and say it came like that if it's relatively new (longer you wait less likely you'll succeed in an RMA).

It's a common issue with MBP's as you said, due to the powder coating on its design.

But yeah over time stuff like thats gonna happen, so get some kind of palm protector if you can't live with little chips like that

Yeah, shortly after I bought it I noticed it. Didn't really think it would bother me but obviously it has. I will try the returns process also.

I have also ordered a Moshi Palmguard for future.
