Default Are you prepared for a break-in?

Apart from alarms, locks and all that... are you or your parents prepared for a potential break-in in your house? My mates Dad he told me years ago has a metal baseball bat under his bed if there's ever a break in, and I think that is really sensible myself. We haven't got anything like that in our house even though I have suggested it so we'd be defenceless if there was a break in, so after university when I am home I have been thinking about storing my to-be spare butchers knife under my bed incase the situation ever arises that I hear noises downstairs and find some 5ft+ rats lurking about.

So how about you? Do you or your family have any plans for such an event?

To be honest we're not really prepared but we don't need to be. My dog has such a bark on her she would probably scare them away. When we order takeaways they normally back away from the door and stand at the end of my front garden lmao. Also in my house you can't hug or hit another without her going crazy and protecting you. I used to play fight with my dad, we'd punch each other lol but nope not now.

Yeah, there's nothing worth robbing hahaha

Na, we aren't tbh and around here we get a lot of break ins but i sleep with a hammer by my bed, if worst came to worst, I'd grab it and man up.

I don't have any security system, bar a lock on a front door. That's in both my house and my parents. At home my father could just belly flop on them as his weapon.
Are you trying to scope out potential houses to rob or something?

Just have my dogs really and they'd go mental with barking which would probably scare them off.

We aren't really prepared. Our house is quite old and the windows don't have very strong frames. We have closed the garage so people can't just walk round. No alarm system or anything though.
