    Hello!

So I have no idea if there's somewhere better for this but thought I'd cool for people to maybe post poetry here? I remember ages and ages ago there was a thread.

Here's one from me to get us started. It's called Toxic.

    Tell me your secret
    Maybe I'll keep it
    Tell me you're sorry
    Tell me the lies now
    Tell me your story
    About how you love me
    But you're not sorry
    I know you're not sorry

    So many times I listened
To all you had to say
How you said you still loved me
    And missed me everyday
And I'd crawl back into your bed
A bed you made of lies
Then you let me down again
And knock me off my high

It's funny how the only thing
That will fix me is you
But you're the reason I'm broken
I'm the reason you're broken too
We're a match made by the devil
    For his own little show
But if I don't turn to you
    I've nowhere else to go

    We define toxicity
    We're everything I hate
    But when I'm with you
    It seems just like fate
And then you whisper to me
    How you're so in love
    Then I check your phone
And I know I'll never be enough

    Then I yell and scream
    How I'm done with you
You throw a punch my way
    And say you're done too
Then months go by and by
And the rain comes rolling in
It's your arms I run to
Until I see the sun again.

I feel Poetry gets a bad reputation. I've been into it for years but I think the way they teach young people at GCSE age about Poetry really ruins it. It's such a beautiful, raw medium. For it to be stripped down in the way they do, takes away from it.

It is so true and I agree with you. Poem is an art form that is raw, and from the heart.
