    Default Thank you for HxSS

    Right hello!!

Firstly, thanks to Kimmy and everyone else in the other thread and I will reply there too shortly, I've been meaning to.

It isn't fair that I get all the thanks or the credit or anything for HxSS and I wanted to post this. It's incredibly long so well done if you get through all of it. I've colour coded and put cute images in though so hopefully you will read it because EVERYONE mentioned here deserves the thanks.

Firstly, to Kelly and Lauren - our wonderful AGMs - who both took it in their stride despite me freaking out for most of it, keeping level-headed and sensible and fantastic throughout the whole thing. You both worked really hard with your departments to produce some bloody fantastic competitions and events and both had to sort out things really last minute - e.g. @Absently; and the official event and @welshcake; and, well, stepping up to AGM and then doing everything right away in case you didn't know - and you both took it so in your stride.

It's not easy being a manager+ - especially AGM - during HxSS, there is (as you can imagine) a lot to deal with when certain people look like they're coming back or do in fact come back, sometimes causing issues. It's difficult to really imagine if you've not been in that position but we've all been incredibly stressed with some of the complaints and issues we've had but those two - and Matt, of course - have helped sort that out and keep me calm (which is a feat in itself!!).

On top of that they've also both taken on extra responsibilities such as doing permissions and they've both had to learn that during the last two weeks - PLUS the other general running of Habbox and its departments - it's honestly a wonder any of us made it out the other side. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't think most people realise how much work it's been and I wanted to, try and show that and properly, in public, say thank you, because I honestly could not have got even near as close to the success this year without you two.

But it wouldn't be fair to just single them out and basically thank everyone below me without saying to @xxMATTGxx; as well - although you don't get as involved as you used to, you've still helped us so much (despite all your swearing on air!!!!), from setting up forums and teaching us new things to uploading icons. Where would we be without you?

NEXT are all the managers. I mentioned above that I thought the new department competitions were really outstanding this year - my personal favourites were the Tug of War Tournament and Build a Rare - and that's all credit to the managers and the staff who helped out. We've had a huge range of things so there's been something for EVERYONE to get involved in and it's really paid off I think. Obviously there have been a few kinks and questions about points and things but we can keep that in mind for next year.

DESPITE THE FACT THAT BASICALLY FOUR OF YOU RESIGNED HALFWAY THROUGH :@ :@ :@ I would like to say thank you to every single one of you for organising your competitions so well. I don't know how much you all did on your own or with support from staff/AGMs, and please do reply saying thank you to those who helped (because they deserve the recognition!), but you've really impressed me with how smoothly all that has gone.

One of the less "official" managers who I'd like to thank is @Tom; - he was there to fix bugs (and my god did we have bugs), help set things up while I was having constant panic attacks before it started (yes, seriously) and sort out leaderboards and did it (mostly) without complaining (too much). Plus, fixing my SAM so I could ACTUALLY DJ AGAIN. It's easy to forget that there's a lot of technical things that HxSS relies on and we would have been a lil bit broken. Don't let this single out get to your head though Tom - and to managers, this doesn't mean I think he's done better/more than you, it's just because I know people will forget this.

MOVING ON. Most people probably don't know this but one of the new things I introduced this year were HxSS Moderators. These were people who were (temporarily, I need to remove those perms) given Senior Event Organiser perms on the site and some forum editing perms to keep the calendars up to date, CNBs posted and events booked on the main site. Obviously, Sammy, Jake, Kelly and myself were all able (and did!!) add the events too but this was just so there was less confusion about what was on and we could really keep track.

I think I had a total of 2 complaints/issues about events not being added over the whole two weeks and that's completely at the credit of those who fulfilled this role. Thank you hugely to @Expling;, @Zealoux;, @lesbon;, @Kyle;, @Matt; and @Nick; for taking on that role, not complaining and keeping things up to date.

Next, it wouldn't be right to say thank you without saying thank you to everyone who played or participated. While it's definitely not been the best HxSS I've ever taken part in, I have heard a lot of postitive feedback (despite what a few angry people may say) and I honestly think it was fairly good. There are, of course, things I wish we'd done differently, but that's something we can keep in mind for next year - if I'm still here, or leave for our replacements - to make that even better.

There's been a huge team ethic and real community feel this year and I love the way that a lot of people have been working together. From what I can see (aka not looked at statistics at all), we've had quite a few new members sign up and get involved, as well as existing members getting more involved in the community, making friends and chatting, and I really hope you all stick around!

To everyone who hosted an event, DJd a slot, wrote a competition, I say a huge thank you. Most of you were just doing your jobs, I know, but you've all taken the extra pressure in your stride and hosted (most) events without a hitch, many new-to-HxSS even reporting points perfectly and making our adminy lives SO much easier!

I do want to say a special thank you to @FlyingJesus;, @Yuxin; and @Shonly; who all returned to Habbox to help out during the event and host, to @Dolphins; who probably wired about 80% of the HxSS but even more so to @Kardan; and @Charz777; who once again returned with a fantastic competition to get people involved. I can't imagine the planning that goes into running the Mole and I seriously hope you'll return again next year! There are more people who did stand out for me this year but I don't want to forget someone and people get angry at me for not saying them or something but I'll find a way x

And finally. Thank you to everyone who's supported me, personally. I tried to hide it for the most part, but I wasn't very well this time last week. I was massively struggling with a few things (some people reading this will understand more, but you can probably imagine what it might be) and I was very close to giving up quite a few times. I don't want to name names but I think if you're reading this then just, thank you.

It's not just that though. Just coming to events and seeing the fun that everyone's had, chatting away with people, laughing my arse off some days, hosting the final show (god that was funny), has made me feel so much better. There are so many people who don't even realise that I was feeling so low sometimes and I could just sit and watch you play Trap or something and end up forgetting everything else and being vaguely positive again. Really, what I'm trying to say is, thank you for making it a good atmosphere.

And finally, a note. Being in any senior position at Habbox is an incredibly stressful job and I respect people hugely for the rubbish they sometimes have to put up with when it's just supposed to be for fun, a volunteer role. Sometimes it feels like the negativity really gets you down - trust me, I know that feeling - which is kind of why I posted this thread. The feedback section can be very scary at times - especially for people who take things to heart - and while I welcome constructive feedback MOST of the time, it can get you down because there - objectively - isn't an awful lot of positive, official, feedback. I guess what I'm saying is... if you like something we do, even a little bit, please tell us. If you're quiet and you take it for granted we won't know where we've actually gone right!

Thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Let's keep this momentum (although less stress, PLEASE), this atmosphere alive.

Ok I cried writing this whatever i'm in a really EMOTIONAL STATE RIGHT NOW

Looking forward to next year! You've done a really great job with this event, I'm sure everyone else enjoyed it aswell.

Thank you to everyone who took part in HxSS (especially to all those people who hosted the maze for me when I had to go offline or when I died randomly/acting as a 'back up' in case I did die) it wouldn't be the same without you all xoxoxx
