Default Windows 10 is on 75 million PCs after 1 month

Microsoft released Windows 10 four weeks ago today, and now the company is providing a fresh update on its upgrade figures.14 million machines had been upgraded to Windows 10 within 24 hours of the operating system release last month, and that figure has now risen to more than 75 million in just four weeks.

Microsoft has been rolling out Windows 10 in waves, as a free upgrade for Windows 8 and Windows 7 users. While it's difficult to compare exact figures between Windows 10 and Windows 8, Microsoft "sold" 40 million licenses of Windows 8 a month after its debut. It took Microsoft six months to get to 100 million licenses of Windows 8, and it's clear the free aspect of Windows 10 is obviously driving higher adoption rates.

Not bad, not bad at all. Good news for Microsoft then!

I have Windows 10 on my laptop, and it's a lot better than Windows 8.

It's much easier to navigate, feels a little like an updated version of Windows 7

Must be a record for the quickest spreading virus. Just kidding of course, but I still find it a tad slow and dislike the fact I can't outright disable some features.

I still have Windows 7 on my PC and I absolutely hate Windows 8 which is what we have at work. HATE IT.

Not sure I'll like 10 but I'll have a look to decide whether I want it or not.

The amount of upgrades I've done for 10 in work for customers is ridiculous.

Don't like the fact you can't use Cortana without converting your local user account to a Microsoft account.

8.1 wasn't too bad though. I've found that windows 10 doesn't feel ready yet. Searching for a program can work sometimes but sometimes freeze or take ages. There's an issue with booting to - there's a long wait between windows loading and the login screen, getting a black screen but curser viewable.

I do like Windows 10 I just feel like it wasn't ready
