If friend has addiction or mega habit then temptation might be too strong to be trusted with that money. I'll deal with the murder problem later GIMME MORE DRUGS
Also there's probably more chance of them coming back asking you for more money than paying you back
And there's the chance they might not owe that much so they use the rest to buy more drugs 👊
