Government refuses to ban XL American Bulldog despite hundreds of attacks
Hundreds of pets and people have been attacked in 2023 alone by the American XL Bulldog
BAN THEM. They all need putting down. https://t.co/Qejphzcx9u
— John Duffield (@jfwduffield) September 9, 2023This can easily be changed. Amazingly easily.

The government can add a new breed to the banned list immediately. No law needs to pass, just a signature from SoS for @DefraGovUK.
Or, government guidance can just be updated to make clear that the Bully is a Pitbull type. Banned. pic.twitter.com/GL3JuD9ham
This government continues to astound me.
It does nothing on major issues because it has no drive - whether it's blocking ULEZ, sorting out border controls, building infrastructure - but on something as simple as a minister banning a quite dangerous breed of dog, without much (if any) parliamentary time needed to do so, it sits on its hands and does nothing.
The fact is that these monsters have been bred by some of the stupidest people for the stupidest people who used them as a status symbol. Luckily where I live you don't come across these but on the few times I have seen these (mainly in Barcelona) I literally crossed the road to avoid them as once they're locked onto you, you can expect to lose the skin on your arms, legs and face - or even die from blood loss.
