Default Scottish polls: Reform move into second place up north

Scottish polls: Reform move into second place up north

The insurgent party now moves into second place position ahead of the 2026 Scottish Parliamentary Elections

Interesting - nothing would piss on the chips of the SNP more than having Reform as the offical opposition in Holyrood.

Of course what we're now seeing with Reform polling 31%+ nationally in all polls is that their vote is efficient under FPTP, so this allows huge swathes of seats to fall their way. And as a result, the 'wasted vote' mantra becomes the opposite. The problem in Scotland remains that the Unionist vote is still split four ways, and until Unionist-minded voters start rallying around one of the Unionist parties then the SNP will continue to slip into government and will continue to win the bulk of Westminster seats up north.

But this polling is a welcome step.

There was a by-election for the Hamilton seat in the Scottish parliament yesterday.

Reform didn't win but have shown what the polls are telling us in Scotland are the reality, that Reform is now capable of picking up seats across Scotland both for Holyrood seats and Westminster seats. The Tories have utterly collapsed.
