    I've got 2 forums open, and its used 52mb space. A 500mb plan will take you to about 500,000 posts.

    He is getting his OWN hosting as it would be more reliable...

    Yes. Get your own hosting from somewhere like crisphosting.net and upload it so then youve got the whole package eg yourforumdomain.net or .com or whatever instead of a domainname.whatever/forumname
