YANS - Should I finish it?

Hi,

A while ago I started developing a new news script which uses PHP, MySQL & Javascript. The script was named 'YANS' which stands for; Yet Another News System.

I haven't worked on the script in some time now and so I'm wondering, should I finish it? Do people need/want a new, good, free news system for their site?

I've begun brainstorming for this new idea i've had of a website. I'm naming the project 'mySpot' which was the name of my myspace sort of project. This has NOTHING to do with that project and I can see this site doing well with my more 'computer literate' friends at least.
