My computer has gone through a phase of giving up and...dying. So I got it all fixed n' everything, but I was loading up Runescape today and it wouldn't load to the login bit. A small rectangular shape was in the top left corner, with 3 little shapes inside it.
What does it mean, do I have to download something?

be careful what you download!

Make sure you have runescape as trusted, what I'm guessing is when it asked if it's aloud to run the applet it was selected no.
