I don't use mouthwash and have never ever used it before... how does it work?

I use erm, any toothpaste we got in.
And I use this stardrops mouthwash I think it's called, where you shake it then swill for 30 seconds, then gargle it for 30 seconds. (I can't gargle, it makes me giggle, lmao) Then when you spit it out, the dark bits that come out is the plaque and ^&*$ that's been in your mouth.
