Nex gen console battle!

Right, who's gonna win this generation? Its a hard one, ive had my xbox since Xmas day and havent stopped playing it, not even a day without it its just so user friendly and so great Online.

In my view the Xbox won it last time because it came out after the PS2. It saw the Playstation and improved it. So the 360 should lose? Well no, yes the PS3 has the technology, e.g the new 'lazer' technology. But when you get down to it, graphicly, its not that much better, if anyone saw the PS3 preview for the new metal gear solid, listen to this.the creator of metal gear solid (i forget his name) said the preview he made for PS3 could be done on the 360.

Also theres the price, due to stock shortages, places like HMV, GAME etc. have been selling the last of there stock off expensivly, but when you get down to it, its RRP is £209.99 (for the core) £279.99 (for the good one). Sony has had a bad history managing there finances when it comes to consoles, they lost billions with the PS2, and because of the 'blue ray lazer' technology, the PS3 will cost £280 to manafacture, compared to the 360's moddest £190. So boffins are estimating the X360 is going to be half the price of the PS3 by the end of the year!

Despite this, i am a Gadget geek, i love to have new technology, and i suprised myself when i said i didnt want the PSP. So once the PS3 has a realistic price i probably wil buy it.

P.S i havent mentioned the revoloution for one reason, i can see it bieng another flop from nintendo, like the Gamecube. Nintendos genius run out after the SNES

Firstly, Metal Gear Soild was Video Play, No actual 'game play' So you can't judge

The 360, has pretty amazing graphics and in reality is pretty much the same specs as PS3 (Leaving Blu-ray out of it)

and also, the orignal xbox lost 4 million pound and their planning to lose more with the 360.

Sony are clever they have the gaming market and they make most of the profits from the games and accessories.


revoloution will be the 'true' next gen console simply because there trying something amazily smart, cool and a totally new way of playing games!

The PS3, loads of estimating has gone on since there was word about it release. So far, we still lie upon rumours, facts, guesses and rough estimation of whether it will basically own the Xbox 360. Till this point, its hard to get some heavy facts about this suspicous console, until its release ( which isn't very steardy to rely on just yet... ) we can only judge its true facts and compare the two, maybe three.

Pretty similar to what I would have said. PS3 Has lots of speculation and the 360 is here about 7months earlier than the PS3 is supposed to release and the release date will probably be set back

Right, so you didn't mention the Revolution just because you believe it's going to be a flop? Its a next gen console 'war' and there are three. Include at least something.

yeah i suppose your all right but i cant see the revoloution doing well? You are right its diffrent, but that may be its downfall! And as for i think it was the first comment, that was a preview of the graphics to come so you can sort of judge it, The creator of metal gear solid did say that he thought the 360 was the best, and that the PS3 has too complicated architecture. Also I know Microsoft did lose millions (and are planning to) but the fact is Sony havent got there figures right, There initial investment for the PS3 is not a large budget for software companies to make games.

I think we are all going to have to agree to disagree. I was reading a games magazine and a manager of a games store wrote in and said 'i hate this console war because the companys are bad mouthing eachother and fighting, i had to physically split two boys up and throw them out my store the other day, just because they were fighting over microsoft and sony' And i think we all know he is speaking the truth. This console war isnt about money anymore, its about whos is the best, and i really hope the Revoloution does well, and i love the way its stayed out of the way of the big league players, but i think the Revoloution is for the retro gamers. And i think im on Microsofts side once more!

I hope they look into that direction, we could see some pretty powerful outcomes from that. I hope they grit down to the proper gaming machine instead of faffing around and arguing about whos is better. I'm on neather side, I like both my PS2 and my Xbox, they produce the same games but they both have other games that show a uniqueness about the console itself.
The Nintendo Revolution looks the part, like you said its something different, lets hope there games are as funky as the console. Because for me, the NGC was cool in some senses but most of its games lacked excitement.

I'm looking forwards to the outcome of this battle, any console could win it in my eyes.

Well how can you have a war when there are 2 that are the same then one which is in a total lague of its own? There all different but revolution seperates the most.

Xbox360 is only liked because it was released first. Ps3 will be very succesfull most likely will win. But im going for a revolution, since it supplies the most fun. Im not a graphics person. I couldnt care less about graphics. Its about how you play the games to me. And with the ps3 the boomerang for a controller ruins it for me.

I believe you're talking about Hideo Kojima :p He said that the MGS footage seen is technically possible with the PS3, and that the consoles really are that different in terms of power. (And it is actually in-game footage, not just FMV like Killzone was.)
