    Default Calling All Guitarists....

    How do you do octaves?

It's really bugging me coz its always part of a really good bit of the song.
If you dont no what i mean its when you play to notes but you palm mute the middle one, to me its physically impossible and i end up throwing my guitar away frustrated. If you still havent a clue what i mean its like this:

    ---2--
    ---X---
    ---4---
    -------
    -------
    -------

PLEASE HELP! REP WILL BE GIVEN IF I CAN GIVE OUT REP.

I never thought that was an octave chord.
The third finger usually sits lightly on the middle string so it mutes it.
So it's the same fingering as a powerchord but without the 5th and just leaving the octave..

lol you can use a finger instead of palm :s just rest a finger on it lightly and if you pluck it it gives a dead, muted sound.
