I've seen it many times. Recently on a paper, today.
It advertises something like "FREE CD" or something, and it says "No purchase nescessary."
Of course your purchase is nescessary, you have to buy the paper to get the CD? >.<

I get it, say your mate bought the paper and gave you the coupon? You don't need to prove you've bought the paper yourself.
I think it just means that you dont have to pay any extra charge for the cd :s Usually some little cretin steals the cd out of the newspaper anyway.
who really cares :s

i think it has something to do with legal things
like for coke bottel cap competions they put no purchus nessary so you cna like mail in a letter and they send you a cap
it has something to do with like they cant just offer a competion for peopel who buy the product
i could be totaly wrong but it was what i thought
'Come get your rubbish CD, just buy tha paper'
I think they just put the cd in with random tracks so you buy the paper.
Well, im not sure on this, seems pretty strange tho.
