Default PS3 set to wipe out DVD's with Blu-ray Discs

Blu-ray Disc's are going to be the next thing and are set to wipe out DVD's when they come out... Of course Like when the DVD's came out not alot of people brought DVD players right away but then it all started comming in and Video's were a thing of the past.

PS3 will be supporting Blu-ray Disc's and Blu-ray Play and they're going to be the 'foot' foward.

This will obviously be a kick in the belly for Nintendo and Microsoft with Revolution and Xbox 360.

Although it will cost Sony a small fortune, they will get it back more than instantaniously.

    And your point being?

I'm not talking about Xbox 360 being able to play online with others, the PS2 can do that with the hard drive and the right adaptions. This is talking about the Blu-ray feature.

I'm not sure they'll take over the DVDs. o.O

Although they'll hold a lot of memory and higher bit rate for HD movies, it will also be more costly due to low production volumes. As of now, it is not too often that you hear the term 'Blu-Ray' too loosely other than when being associated with the PS3 and not many devices, if any, that support this technology are currently available.

It will probably take some time till they become the successors to the DVD. I'm predicting when HDTV costs go down which will cause people to look for higher quality of video, ergo, purchasing Blu-Ray discs. Very few people currently own an HDTV and video quality on DVDs is pretty exceptional for regular televisions.

Even though Sony and Nintendo will not support Blu-Ray technology, the cost of the games will be less because of this.

It won't take over DVD's, they're too popular... But it is a good idea...

And for the first time, I agree fully with SEXYDEATH. They'll cost more, but I personally think they'll be worth it
