I've owned several, I moderate the vBulletin.org forum and know that this modification will not be possible without custom hacks being present.

Then why did you say you "dont think" its doable within Vb. Plus anyone with half an iq point to spare can make a mod, its only a little php codeing, and depdning how well the orignal software is made, usealy very very easy to impliment "/

aww man, when I read this I thought it was a new idea, but it's just the default thing they have on most forums. The rep system was made as an IMPROVEMENT on the star system. with the star system the more posts you have the more stars you have the more popular you are. but with the rep system even if you have a large post count it doesn't mean your popular, you only get popular from people rewarding you on good posts, and making it known when you make a bad post.

The only flaw with the rep system is some people take advantage of it, ways of doing this, mainly is done with the VIP's. VIP's get the ability to see who reps them, which means most people are afraid to give a VIP a bad rep pount if they have high rep, because they will bad rep them back, and it will destroy their rep power. Other people take advantage of this by giving everyone a good rep in hopes that they will rep back, thus increasing their rep, so they can become power hungry one day.

PS: It is sad how important rep power is to so many people, who really cares if you have a big bunch of rep power, it's the person that matters, not how much power they have. esspecially seeing as how theres so many ways of cheating the rep system, that pretty much anyone can get a high rep if they really wanted it. For some reason everyone wants that power. Rep power means so much to people, that they will base their opinions on someone souly based on how much rep they have.

The outline of the stars were saved onto an email attachment from around 2002. (The outline) From my days as Super Moderator at FFGON.

I re-did all the stars and re did the colours. It's not classed as 'Ripping' When it's different to something else. :p
