I agree that sometimes it's just the only way.
A while ago, I was a little disrespectful with my parents.
So one day, my mum just had enough, she gave me some bruises, but I lost the attitude real quick, lol.

Parents just dont randomly go around hitting children for no reason. They hit their children because they are naughty/disrespectful or ungreatful for what they have. You shouldnt be like that unless you WANT a slap

Some do hit their kids for no reason, it happens more than you think.

Under law your still allowed aslong as it doesn't leave a mark on the child. I personally don't agree with it, thier are many other ways to deal with things like that. Just watch supernanny on channel 4. :p

Well not all parents are supernannys. I think its okay in some situations, because a lot of parents know that if you tell a kid not to do something, THE FIRST THING they do, is do what you told them not to.

And you know what the #1 reason for kids misbehaving is? (testing done on this) Watching to much TV. A lot of parents just put their kids in front of the television when they want them out of the way for a few hours. But once they grow up and go to school, they get out of control because school isnt as entertaining as television.

I've always been hit by my parents as a punishment. I've had worse from my dad.. but lets not go there. I'm against smacking, I don't think it's ever done me any good so why use it as a punishment? If say, I stole some money from my parents or something and then got smacked? I'd cry but it wouldn't deter me from doing it again.. so whats the point. There are many alternate forms of punishment that I believe are more successful.

Smacking Should Be Allowed, If You Have A Bad Child, You Smack Them, Teaches Them A Lesson.
