Not a rumour. As long as you have the box checked in your Habbo ID, you will be on the "mailing list" and receive a true to the word Newsletter/mail thing.

As Evo. has posted somewhere, one was sent out on April the 12th, rich with images.

Edit: And there's NO NEED for a newsie now. With this Newsletter being sent out via email, all the competitions and things pertaining to individual Habbos is in the Community Section. As said by Dionysus, the new site bases a large emphasis on the Community Section, which will become riddled with loads of pages.
