That sorta happend to me, but on my pinky. I was playing my trumpet, and one of my pistons wouldn't go down, so I pushed it as hard as I could and I like cut my nail basically in half, but it would hang off a bit.. Eventually a new nail grew under it and it fell off.

Looks pretty gruesome, but that isnt as bad as your whole toe nail coming off.
It hurts, trust me.
My whole big toe nail came off, and its starting to come off again.

You guys had it easy my toe came off my toe beside my baby one came off juring a soccer game in my room. kiked the bed by accendent blood every where my toe looks normal now, My leg was in a rap and put into a plastic bag so I could walk with out getting anything on my wond.
