So, what you're saying is..

- Sony made the PS2 slimline for the sole purpose of experimenrtation for the Playstation Portable. (Even though said expereimentation could have been done WITHOUT selling the actual console.)
- You're denying Sony made the slimline for the sole purpose of profit since the market was strong when the console was released.

Where do you get all this nonsense from?

People's main criticism of the Xbox was that it was too large. Sony capitalised on this by releasing the slimline PS2. The slimline has no resemblance to the PSP in any way; the PSP uses totally different media to play games, and also has a drastically different interface. Besides, the slimline PS2 is still 4 or 5 times bigger than the PSP.

Sony did the same thing to the original PlayStation when they redesigned it to be smaller and released it as the PSone.

What he said, after the PSPoop they started goin waaaay downhill, and the PS3 doesnt look to good, my 360 is pretty good but its built quality is poor, the usb flap thing is broken and my controller broke, but microsoft gave me some free ones!
