After the number you type a letter or something you want in that colour.
For example:

How the 'eck do the new msnplus names work now with the colour? In the convo the colours come up with c= something or other? Do you use that or the $ sign still? I'm all confused.

and replace the 9 with the corresponding code for the colour.
