I think it is right to fight back, but only if they hit first, but if you know they beat people up for no reason or if they take drugs, be careful, because they might have a knife on them.

Here in Newcastle(Atleast where I live) If you get started on, you don't stop hitting them until they're either:
a) On the floor...bleeding
b) They're unconcious(sp!?)
c) They're crying

And if they're on the floor, and not bleeding...well...make them bleed while they're on the floor
I always find a good hard kicking in the nose when they're on the floor does the trick

mind i hit a girl until she was crying but she was a wimp anyway.

i agree with 8f8 tho.
if you carry on hitting a person when they are down and out then its cowardly. although some think it makes you look hard and good they are wrong. because that is when people start to lose control and that is how man slaughter by violence happens.

Why not? Its self defence.
Keep hitting till they're bleeding, show them whos boss .

Well, if you just go round randomly beating the crap out of people who just look at you to make yourself look "hard", then no, that's just pathetic. However, if somebody hits you first, or attacks you or something, then there's nothing wrong with fighting back to defend yourself.
