I loved it, I thought the scenes where evil Sadako appeared and killed people and you only saw stuff like glimpses of her feet then heard the cracking noises as she moved, they were brilliantly set out, but I cried at the end when her boyfriend is on the other side of that glass and they like put their hands up from either side of the glass that was soooo sad and I hated the drama crew people that all surrounded her and started beating her, even though she got them back at the end anyway! I so wanna get the book.

I've read the book, it's extremeley hard to find though. If you loved the movie you would love the book, it's a classic. Ringu is my all-time favorite though, especially when Reiko has the flashback of the day Sadako's mother does the psychic reading event and Sadako kills that reporter and then grabs Reiko. Japanese movies are the best movies to get when it comes to true horror.

I love the complexity of the story, something many horro movies lack, things like the background story of Sadako. The american version is overrated and an insult to the original, it made Sadaka (or Samara :rolleyes out to just be some supernatural killer with no cause

Yes, it's also very un-realistic in many aspects. I just want an explanation to "The Face" in The Ring. How could Samara turn someone's face purple?. Ringu just has a look of shock, which is true to be shocked by Sadako's prescence. The well in Ringu is a lot scarier as well. One more thing is how Samara in The Ring flashes as she is going to kill Noah. She's not a hologram as she IS a living thing. How could she touch the floor then? Sadako's prescene however is a lot spookier with an eerie feeling. A great film indeed, same thing with Ju-On and The Grudge.

The TV scene was definitely much better in the original because it was uninterrupted and the way suspense was built up more by stuff like the water leaking out, the way Sadako came out and did that jolty walk rather than just flickering across like Samara did was so much creepier. I thought the Grudge was good, but it resembled Ringu way too much.

I havn't heard of quite a few you are saying, but I agree with some of you who have your ways to protect you when your watching a scary movie...

I really find only a few movies... that are scary but when I watch them I need my s'exy teddybears and Sheila my pillow....

I don''t care my age, After seeing 4 previous scary movies, I need comfort to get me in bed at night..

I think the most disturbing movie/video I've ever seen has to be Traces of Death. :|

It's basically a compillation of actual murder scenes (some real others fake). My friend showed me one of the volumes- don't remember which though. I think it's banned in the UK. Overall, it's uhm... disturbing to say the least, but it's hard to look away. :/

Meh, I don't really like "scary" movies anyway. The suspense and psychological thrillers are much more worth watching. You don't need to see someone get stabbed or shot to be scared.
