Lesbian sex can cause STD's but is alot less likely than gay. So its understandable for gay sex to be 21, but im not sure about lesbian.

It ISNT 21 anymore.
All relationships age of consent, regardless of sexual orientation, is 16 years old in the UK.
If we're talking internationally, I'd assume it differs between 14 and 21.

on the lesbian issue, there is no age limit for lesbians to have sex, as in the eyes of the law, to have sex, there must be penetration.
i dont know about the age limit for gay sex, but it shouldnt be different to the age limit for streight sex.

About lesbians; there once wasn't a law preventing two women having lesbian sex. But there is now, as any sexual practise (masterbation, penetration etc) is deemed as a form of sex in the eyes of UK Law.
I think the laws for all relationships changed in 2000.

I thought it was 16, but then everyone said it was 18 so.. If Kotu is right, I'd say its reasonable, but if its 18 I'd say its too high. - Not that anyone sticks to them really...
Rofl, I'm right when it comes to the UK's age of consent: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/1045383.stm
