If you're having trouble sleeping, try to imagine something. Something you did during the day, or something you would like to do in the future etc.
This usually helps me get to sleep alot easier, because when my mind is blank I'm not focusing on anything, which doesn't help me to sleep at all.
If you keep getting distracted by the TV downstairs etc, or can't imagine anything (like I said before), put some headphones on and listen to your iPod/CD Player etc. It helps me imagine myself in the video to that song, and what I would like to do.
