Soapbox closed AGAIN, but why?

The soapbox is yet against closed, due to Dionysus getting another cold, but heres something to make us think!

20th September - An important notice. I am unable to make Soapbox this week due to something big coming up. I'll tell you all about it next week when Soapbox returns - you won't want to miss it... it's big!


This page hasn't been updated much has it? Ah! The hassle of working towards a better Habbo experience is a tough and scary world. Why, just last week it was suggested we have dancing babies everywhere. Well no, not really.

Incidentally I was listening to Jon Bon Jovi sing Bad Medicine walking to work this morning. The summer has left Helsinki now and it's starting to get cold. Very cold. Like some kind of ice. Towards the end of the song he says something like "one more time, this time with feeling..." and this threw me. I was shocked, I fell to the ground in the middle of central park, staring up at a cold, grey indifferent sky. Did this mean that prior to this point in the song he had not been singing with feeling? That he was being insincere? Was it a lie? A sham? An act? Oh, my mind reeled as the tower of meaning fell all around me! Could I no longer trust any of the words that came forth from his mouth, unless he prefaced them by saying 'this time, with feeling' ?

I don't know. All I know is that the ducks in the lake in central park may never be the same.

Anyway. New home page changes. You like, you don't like, you may not have noticed, you may not even care. Whatever your feeling let me know, and also let me know what you want to see on the home page. I want to know.

Take note of this first paragraph, something BIG. May he be refering to V11? Maybe, just maybe. As for the rest, its random drivel from his most enlightening voicebox. *cough* Well there you go, soapbox is cancelled and v11 may be sometime this week! Woot!

We are on v10. Version 9 had the big rooms, but v10 was a simple technical issue being fixed, updated, like the ignore button thingy. But now, we're still on v10.

Toronto deary, check the client.action source code - we are on v9. It's better to have the "are we getting v10 or v11" debate when the next version is released, because we don't know if we will get v11 AS v11, or whether it will come and be renamed to v10. I presume it will come named as v11, but that's just my guess.

Now, poor Soapbox. The thing is, you get the monthly cycle of topics, which is boring after a while. Go for a couple of weeks and the same topics pop up time and time again. Can't be helped I guess, due to people coming one week and not the other, which is the nature of the session.

However, this "something big" sounds very promising, and I would also agree that it sounds like a hint at the new version. If we are correct, I think we are safe to say there is a 2 week timeframe it could be released in. Either this week, or alternatively next week (after he has talked about this BIG thing in Soapbox). Too hard to guess accurately, methinks... and there's always the chance this "something BIG" is not a new version, and is something we haven't thought of.

I guess we'll have to wait and see what he was referring to.
