Default Cure for the common cold

OK I have a cold at the moment, Ive tried allsorts of medicines etc. and this got me thinking, why isn't there a simple cure for the "common cold"??
In this day and age with the technology and modern day advances, surely there should be something which can simply cure it? Whoever did manage to invent a simple cure would be a billionaire no doubt! What are your thoughts?

It's not exactly possible; which is why there has no cure has been found. No treatment has been medically proven to combat it, it's totally up to the body's immune system to combat the virus.
I do believe it is not possible to cure the cold, because the virus is changing constantly... or something? I'm not too sure.
But basically, the best thing you can do is rest up and wait for it to pass.

Thanks I wish there was a pill or something that you could just take which would not just "help" but would get rid of the damn thing straight away. :@

As said above your post, there are some things that can "help" but they won't "cure" it.
Something as simple as aspirin might work

Because when you get a cold say next week, it isn't the same virus as you had last week. The cold virus is forever mutating and that's why there's such a big problem with trying to combat against the cold/flu.

Also, if you take too many tablets or anything your body will become immune to them and they'll have no effect, so don't over do it!

The only way to get rid of a cold is to BLOW it all out..
